Fall Break and exams are approaching! Pumpkins and honey-crisp apples are in the air (and in my belly ヽ( ^∀^)ノ). Now is a perfect time to send a little reminder to everyone that the purest joy always resides in the smallest makings. ❤️ Here’s a cute & goofy to-do list I made on a summer day that I recently unearthed:
July 24, Saturday
I will use all my leftover food today and bake bread for people (bread for the pool, Jack, Mel, Min & Riya) (The second loaf turned out charred so Min & Riya didn’t get to have any until later haha.)
still housesitting (at Greg’s, which is essentially a summer wonderland. He showed me tools to fix things in case the party gets feral haha.)
go to the flea market (…and we saw Maddie & Austin’s plant shop, Main Street Plants.)
compost in the ravine (and as I tossed, some eggshells got latched onto the branches and never came down…)
bake the last two sweet potatoes
make curry (accidentally added a bit too much water so improved with quinoa & stuff. Making quinoa is the adding-too-much-water savior to my mistake I’ve needed all this time haha.)
Other musings:
1. listening to Donavon Frankenreiter as I write this letter.
2. getting lost in Henri Cole’s Middle Earth: Poems
3. thinking hard and deep into something
4. Abdulrazak Gurnah won the Nobel Prize in Literature!! can’t wait to start reading his books this fall break hehe
With love,
Erica
